Review
As you may guess form its name, this screen saver has something to do with holiday lights and Christmas. Well, that is pretty much all what this screen saver is about and in fact could be a bit boring. As you’ll be able to see in the screenshots, the screen saver consists in a perimeter of Christmas tree style lights which round the PC monitor, a big text in the middle which reads (of course) “Merry Christmas”, and snow falling down all the time, and accumulating on the text and lights. There are no sounds whatsoever, if you are asking this question to yourself.
The good thing about this screen saver is that it’s quiet and relaxing. The down side, on the other hand, it’s that it could get really boring. The snow could be better, now it’s represented only by white dots falling down, all of same size and falling at identical speed.
This screensaver runs on Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP/Vista. If the screensaver is not loading properly and/or it says it is missing crucial files, you may need the necessary VB6 Runtime files. The setup file is free and can be downloaded from the following link: http://www.acez.com/vbruntime6.htm. These runtime files were not included in the program since most Windows computers already provide them.
Once you have successfully installed the screensaver in your computer you need to put it to work. To do that, follow the following steps:
1. Click the Start button in Windows.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Control Panel.
4. Double click the Display icon.
5. Select Screen Saver tab.
6. Select “Holiday Lights Christmas”.
7. Click either Preview or Settings.
If you note the screen saver running too slow, it can be consequence of many things. It’s recommended having at least 16MB of video memory if your color palette is set to 32 bit. If your video memory is under 16MB, what you can do is to set your color palette to 16 bit.
If you get tired of this screen saver – which could happen pretty soon since its lack of change - and want to remove it from your PC, follow the following steps and it will be completely deleted:
1. Click the Start button in Windows.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Control Panel.
4. Double click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
5. Select “Holiday Lights Christmas”.
6. Click Add/Remove.
It’s recommended to use the Automatic Uninstall option. |

- It has a lightweight installer.
|
